In honor of my new age bracket, I thought I’d share a few fun facts and details about myself today. P.S. Jones sparked the idea in a blog post she wrote a couple years ago, and Claire Wagner refreshed my memory with her recent take on the theme.
I have no ulterior motives or plans to tie this entry into my other posts or freelancing advice or business culture concepts. No. Today is a special day for sharing a little more about myself with my readers. Tomorrow, I’ll return you to your regularly scheduled program.
So if you have any burning questions or really want to know anything specific about your favorite blogger on www.incandescere.com, feel free to ask. NB: Keep it respectful, people. I run a business here. 🙂
Here’s 10 things you didn’t know about me:
1. I’m an only child.
2. I taught myself how to ride a bike at the age of 8.
It was a long time ago, but I’m still proud of that to this day. I didn’t receive help from anyone and my shins were scarred for weeks after falling time and time again, but I did it.
3. I’m mesmerized by hummingbirds.
I will literally stop talking mid-sentence if I see one fly nearby, and I won’t resume my conversation until it has moved on. They’re some of the most amazing creatures I’ve ever seen.
4. I regret not pursuing dance as a career option.
I instead listened to others who told me it would leave me broke, unemployed and miserable by the time I was 35. Now that I’m 35, all I can dream about is what might have been.
5. I eat one side dish at a time.
When I eat a meal with several side dishes, I eat one side dish on my plate at a time. I get it from my mom. I can stop and eat everything at random if I want to, but if I’m not thinking about it, I always finish one side dish before moving on to the next one.
6. I’m arachnophobic and entomophobic.
But in the last few years, my entomophobia has intensified and my arachnophobia has gotten slightly better.
7. I hate writing, but I love having written.
8. I love to drive.
Road trips, cruising on the highway, discovering small communities that I never knew, I love it all. It carries with it a sense of freedom you simply can’t find in other modes of transportation.
9. It annoys me when people call me beautiful.
There’s a long rant to this, but yes, I know it’s strange.
10. I have trouble telling my left from my right.
I know the difference, but I still have to think about it. If I rely on instinct alone, 4 out of 5 times, I will say the wrong one before correcting myself. It’s not a secret shame, mind you, but this is probably the first time I’ve ever put it in writing.
Tell me a few fun facts about yourself.
What would you like me to know about you?
