Why This Is Awesome: For my actual birthday during my trip to Paris, I decided to spend the day in Montmartre. Although it was a drizzling overcast afternoon, I enjoyed a lovely foodie-focused walking tour and thigh-burning hike up to Sacré-Coeur. With sore feet and a contented heart, I traipsed back to the Metro and happened upon a group of musicians in the subway corridors that goes by the name of Classique Metropolitain. It’s not every day you get a chance to hear a live string orchestra play Pachelbel and Mozart as you move along your commute.

After doing a little research (and purchasing their CD), I learned the group has been performing in the Paris underground for at least 9 years. And not unlike the Drumadics, their art is both appreciated by tourists and locals alike.
