Why This Is Awesome: About five years ago, I shared a few photos of a makeshift garden of artistic horrors that lived behind a local tattoo parlor in my hometown of Indianapolis. One of the things I loved most about that space was how it was a burst of artistic expression in an unexpected place.
Fast forward to this summer, while out searching for some lunch during the midday rush, I stopped in a popular spot on Halsey St. Before placing my order, I decided to use the facilities, where I was surprised to find artwork that definitely doesn’t fall under the umbrella of “your typical public restroom art.”
I don’t know who assembled the gallery wall in the photo above, nor do I know the names of the artists or their works on display. What I do know is that this was an amazing example of how art in unexpected places can leave you captivated and clamoring to share with the rest of the world.
If you know any of the works or their creators above, please let me know. I’d love to give them credit and maybe push a little business their way.
