Why This Is Awesome: As I prepare to head off into the den of steel and concrete, I made myself sit back and remember what beauty wide open spaces and lack of WiFi have to offer. This is Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas, Nevada. And it's one of the most calming, peaceful places I've ever been -- and that's saying something! If you're ever in the Vegas area and want to escape the Strip for a day, this 40 minute road trip will make your holiday.
