Lotus Moments

Lotus Moment: The Drumadic World of Jazz

Why This Is Awesome: Last November, I came across this popular jazz band in NYC called the Drumadics thumping in the 42nd St./Times Square subway station between the entrance to the 7 line and the Red line. If you look on YouTube, you'll see they've been performing down there (with various members) for several years (along with Too Many Zooz, an offshoot of the Drumadics). At this point, they're in danger of becoming a NYC institution.

I'm so glad I took the time to stop, donate, and record them for this quick 2 minute clip. They, along with so many other buskers and musicians in NYC, really make this city come alive in a way that can't be truly captured in words. So why not capture it in song instead? ;-)
