Why This Is Awesome: There's an old aphorism that says the personal is political, and I'm inclined to agree.
Just as this beautiful facade of the Newark City Hall building was crafted to reference history, ideology and innovation, the personal lives that we share with one another easily reflect our histories, ideologies and ambitions. Some may lament this ever-present nature of our current political beliefs, but I see the beauty in knowing who we truly are and the tapestry we create as a community -- locally and globally. Because with the knowledge of where we stand and the desire to work towards change, we can build a better community for all of us.
And I can't think of a greater way to express our art.
